- The story was drawn from the filmmakers' own lives: director Shelagh Carter's husband had just taken an opportunity that moved him elsewhere, leaving her alone in the prairies, while co-writer Deborah Schnitzer contributed an argument with her own husband on the Champs-Élysées.
- Shelagh Carter's feature film was shot in only six days by cinematographer Ousama Rawi, who had first worked with her on One Night.
- Kristen Harris loved playing Isobel but was scared to do it, shaking and unable to sleep the night before the first day of shooting, until a 4am realization that the fear was the character.
