Plot summary
Tommy Williams is a talented performer with his eye on Broadway. He and Penny Morris are both starstruck young people whom nobody seems willing to give a chance to perform. The two team up to organize a charity show that will benefit British children affected by the war, and they gather friends and fellow performers, a varied group, each bringing their own unique skills to the project. Money is short, misunderstandings arise, and a venue and costumes still have to be found. Comedic and dramatic incidents test the group's resolve and ingenuity while the show is being prepared for the stage.
