Awakening the Zodiac (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Short on money, landscaper Mick Branson goes in with his pawnbroker friend Harvey on the contents of an abandoned storage locker in Virginia. The home movie reels they pull out show the Zodiac murders, shot by the killer himself. Mick's wife Zoe is reluctant at first, then agrees to help trace where the films came from, hoping the information is worth a $100,000 reward. Digging into the rental records turns up the name Betty Ferguson, and the couple goes to the address on the paperwork. A man in the shadows confronts them there, their neighbor Ray warns Mick off the pursuit, and Harvey keeps studying the reels for clues.
