Plot summary
Allie Pennington's parents are both scholars of medieval literature, and she enrolls at Avalon High while they continue their studies. She befriends Will, a quarterback, and Miles, who has psychic flashes. Miles becomes her partner on a school project about the Order of the Bear, a subject her parents co-wrote a book about, and they help the two with their research. Allie also meets classmates like Lance and Jennifer, and she grows closer to Will as she experiences visions of King Arthur, with the students around her coming to look like figures in a re-staging of the Arthurian legend at her new school.
