Plot summary
An armada of extra-terrestrials launches a nationwide assault on Australia one evening and kidnaps Andi Gibson's mother. The rest of the world, insulted at being left out of the attack, refuses to come to the country's aid. Nobody believed Andi when, at ten, she described a close encounter with a flying saucer. She sets out to stop the invasion and get her mother back, along with Elliot, her hypochondriac brother, Keith, a cousin who retired from boxing, and Cam, a friend who makes documentaries. Her father, both mysterious and cringeworthy, joins them. They face spaceships that chase cars, aliens skilled in martial arts and giant killer robots.
