Plot summary
The idea of alligators on methamphetamine goes back to 2019, when a Tennessee police department warned residents against flushing the drug down their toilets because alligators in the water might ingest it. In the Florida Everglades, an island community faces that same problem: a giant alligator has taken methamphetamine, and the local sheriff and a DEA agent take it on together. They recruit a group of residents to join the hunt.

- Meth Gator's premise came from 2019 reports that a Tennessee police department warned people not to flush methamphetamine down toilets, because alligators that ate the drug could become hyper-aggressive "meth gators".
