Plot summary
Oliver Warbucks is to receive a knighthood from the King, and the group crosses the Atlantic to Britain for the ceremony. Twelve-year-old Annie brings her dog Sandy and her new friend Hannah, and her old friend Molly, still living in an orphanage, makes the trip as well, along with a scientist. In England the children befriend Michael Webb. They also cross the path of Lady Edwina Hogbottom, a noblewoman who means to blow up Buckingham Palace while the heirs to the throne are gathered there for the knighting, so that she can take the crown for herself. Annie, Molly, Hannah and Michael find themselves caught up in her plan.
