Plot summary
Harry Ho is a Korean American writer who has not been paid for his work and whose luck has run out. He has finally decided to propose to his girlfriend, Anita Lee, on her thirtieth birthday. Anita has her own plan for the day: Las Vegas, with her entire family, none of whom have met Harry. Her traditional Chinese parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee, do not approve of him and are thinking of a nice Chinese doctor for their daughter instead. Anita is Chinese American, and the Las Vegas trip is where her relatives meet him for the first time.
