Plot summary
Maggie, a single mother from New York, travels to a Tuscan village where she spent her youth, bringing along her rebellious teenage daughter Summer. The trip is meant to bring the two of them closer. In the village Maggie runs into Luca, the man she loved decades earlier, who lives nearby with his mother Carmen and still holds feelings for her. Summer, meanwhile, misses her boyfriend Tyler back in New York and wants to get home. Carmen has her own plan: to marry Marcellino, her sweetheart from the 1960s, at a church in Rome, against Luca's wishes. When Summer and Carmen take Luca's car and set off for Rome, Maggie and Luca follow.
