Raoul Bova

Biography

Raoul Bova is an Italian actor who was born in Rome in 1971 and trained with Michael Margotta and at the acting school of Beatrice Bracco. He broke through in Europe with the 1993 romantic comedy Pretty Princess and went on to play romantic leads in Italian films. His American film debut came with the crime comedy Avenging Angelo in 2002, and he followed it by playing Diane Lane's love interest in Under the Tuscan Sun (2003). In 2004 he appeared alongside Sanaa Lathan in the science fiction movie Alien vs. Predator, and his later American credits include The Tourist (2010) and All Roads Lead to Rome (2015), opposite Sarah Jessica Parker. On television he had a recurring part on ABC's comedy-drama What About Brian between 2006 and 2007, played Pope Sixtus IV in Medici in 2018, and appeared in La Reina del Sur, a crime drama, in 2019.
