Plot summary
In the 18th century, pirates on Madagascar raid shipping across the Indian Ocean from a base that is a natural fortress, and the British Navy looks for a way to destroy them. Brian Hawke, a naval officer, steps forward with two other seamen to get inside the stronghold. Their arrival stirs suspicion among the pirates, and Captain Roc Brasiliano has Hawke brought before a tribunal to answer for himself. Spitfire Stevens, the lone woman among the captains of that coast, takes notice of him, which makes Brasiliano jealous. Hawke settles the matter by beating another pirate in a duel, and the tribunal lets his case drop. He joins Brasiliano's crew.
