Plot summary
Hostile creatures that hunt by sound have killed much of the world's population, including Evelyn Abbott's husband Lee and her young son Beau. With their home destroyed, Evelyn and her children, Regan, who is deaf, and Marcus, set out to find other survivors. Evelyn sets off a sound alarm near a fenced-off area, and Marcus steps into a bear trap. The family takes shelter in an abandoned steel foundry, where they meet Emmett, who has lost his own family and lives alone in a soundproof bunker.

- By the time Paramount postponed A Quiet Place Part II in March 2020, it had already spent about 60% of its global prints-and-advertising budget, which Deadline Hollywood called "truly a shocker" because the spending suggested rescheduling was impossible.
- On June 11, 2021, A Quiet Place Part II crossed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office, becoming the first film of the pandemic era to do so.
- Brian Tyree Henry was added to the cast in June 2019 but later left the film over scheduling problems, and Djimon Hounsou replaced him that August.
- After Paramount shortened the exclusive theatrical run from 90 days to 45, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and producers including Michael Bay, whose compensation depends on box-office receipts, asked the studio to compensate them for the shorter run.
