Plot summary
Mountaineers Alison, Ed and Rob join Jenny and Alex for a climbing trip in the Scottish Highlands. Stopping for lunch, they come upon Anna, a young girl sealed inside a chamber in the ground. She speaks no English, and Ed takes her language to be Croatian, so the friends cannot learn from her who put her there. They agree to bring her to safety. Alison and Rob take a shorter way to the nearest village to fetch help, a route that drops down a tall cliff known as Devils Drop. Ed, Jenny and Alex walk with Anna along a longer path toward the next village. The men who buried Anna are still in the area.
