Plot summary
Molly J. Truesdale, a working girl in New York City, boards a bus on a whim to discover the American West, and three of her suitors protest the trip. The tour is led by Smiley Lambert. At a rodeo a bucking bronco tosses the rider Duke Hudkins into her lap, and Duke, a rodeo cowboy, buys her a beer. Molly brings him luck while he gambles, and Duke escorts her to various places and events. Waco, Duke's friend, tells her plainly that Duke is not the man for her. Each time Duke begins to warm to her, Molly pulls back in a panic.
