Don Costello
Biography
Don Costello was an American actor who worked in stage, screen and radio. Born in New Orleans, he was educated by Jesuit Fathers and first planned to study law before turning to acting. In the mid 1920s he worked as a stage manager for the Wright Players, based in Louisville, Kentucky, and later joined the Majestic Players in Elmira, New York. He entered films in 1935 and was under contract with MGM by 1939. Known for a wicked sense of humor, he often played a menace or a tough guy.
