Plot summary
A Day in the Life follows Stick, the leader of a gang who is trying to leave crime behind, through a single day in his life. No one speaks: every line is rapped over a hip-hop beat, and the story plays as a rap opera. Stick's crew and the crime family run by Black Ike Smith are already at odds when Black Ike Smith's people raid one of Stick's crack houses and kill two of his men. The attack leaves Stick weighing a retreat from the streets against revenge, a choice that could pull him deeper into a cycle of violence.
