Plot summary
Donald Devlin drives a sanitation truck in a Pennsylvania town. He lives with anxiety and autism, cares for a mother who uses a wheelchair, and tries to stay close to his teenage daughter. When a boy from the town goes missing, Donald takes an interest in the child and in the boy's grieving mother. After the body is found in the creek, Donald refuses to accept that the boy drowned. He begins asking questions on his own, convinced someone harmed the child. The sheriff learns what Donald is doing, threatens him with legal charges, mocks his mental health problems, and calls him delusional.
