Plot summary

Dino is a cat who spends his nights with Nico, a burglar who steals jewels, and his days with Zoé, a girl in Paris. Zoé has not spoken since her father died at the hands of the gangster Victor Costa. Her mother Jeanne is a police superintendent, and a nanny named Claudine looks after her. Jeanne briefs her officers on guarding the Colossus of Nairobi, a statue Costa also wants, and his accomplices go by codenames. Nico leaves a fish-shaped bracelet with the cat, who carries it home to Zoé.
