Plot summary

The Westerns that American crews once made in Almería, Spain, gave Julián Torralba his living as a stuntman. Those productions ended, and he and his fellow veterans now make what they can by staging stunt shows for the few tourists who reach the dilapidated set where the films were made. Julián still carries the death of his son, who followed him into stunt work, and the breach with his daughter-in-law Laura. Laura's boy Carlos is drawn to the father he lost and runs away to the old set. Laura, an executive scouting land for a tourist resort, learns where her son has gone and turns against what is left of Julián's career.
