STAR [Space Traveling Alien Reject] (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Once a famous, award-winning writer, Greg Vincent is now a struggling alcoholic after a terrible loss, and he needs a story that can restart his career. He also needs money for the crime lord Angelia Branco, so he goes to the small town of Metsburgh. STAR is a blue, oddly shaped, wise-guy alien who has fled his home planet of Mars, where the hideous Meroarks want him dead. Greg and STAR meet when the two of them end up hiding in the same cabin. A mob deadline hangs over Greg, and STAR's pursuers are not far behind. Alex Creed, the star of grindhouse films such as Devon Danger vs. the Atomic Space Zombies, and Marissa, a devoted fan of those films, are also in the story.
