Plot summary

Ángel Berriatúa is a Basque priest and professor of theology who tells a fellow priest that he intends to do evil. He arrives in downtown Madrid and commits a string of sins and crimes. In a record store he meets José María, a heavy metal fan and self-described Satanist, who gives him a tape by the most evil band he can name and takes him to his mother's boarding house, where Mina helps run the business. Ángel believes a hidden code in the Bible dates the Antichrist's birth to midnight on Christmas Eve, and he plans to sell his soul to gain entry to the ceremony and kill the child. To that end he tries to steal a book by Professor Cavan, a television host who deals in the occult.
