Plot summary
Luke and Ethan are in remote China, researching an old myth about an emperor and eternal life for the businessman Mason. They find a cave and are attacked. Luke gets a distress signal out before the group loses contact with him. Mason then persuades Luke's estranged sister Jia, an expert on venom and dangerous animals, to join the search. She arrives in China with Mason and meets Jack, Milly, Chen and Gary. The group sets out quickly to outrun a lightning storm, and Jia notices the six vials of anti-venom Mason has brought. The myth traces back to an emperor's court doctor, sent to find the key to immortality, whose quest reached as far as Australia.
