Plot summary
Elliot Brindle sells for a living and owes more than he earns, with a pregnant fiancée, Shelby, and a brother, Michael, who depends on his health insurance. When his boss fires him, a stranger calls with an offer: complete thirteen tasks, each paying more than the last, and the money lands in his account. The first is killing a fly; the second, eating it. The caller warns that failing a task, interfering in the game or revealing it will cost him everything he has won. Detectives begin looking into a series of public stunts, and Shelby grows worried about his secrecy. A conspiracy theorist has been telling police about the game.
