Plot summary
Miles Fuller and Dylan Kirkpatrick work entry-level jobs at DanRick Designs. When a colleague dies, the two of them become the main candidates for a promotion. Miles teaches inner city teens at a Tech Center that is short of money. Dylan wants to buy the house his late father built himself, before his stepfather persuades his mother to sell it. The raise from the promotion would settle both problems, yet only one of them can have the job. Coworkers and family tell the two men that racial disparities always shape office politics, and that questionable, forceful moves may be needed to even the playing field.
