Plot summary
Janis Bellacrest is the young heiress whose birthday brings an orchestra to a mansion built to look like a castle. The band's manager has booked the orchestra to play for the party, and guests are in the house for the celebration. Aunt Margo Bellacrest believes in spiritualism, and a mystic who calls himself Prince Saliano is among those present. Professor Karl Fenninger presents himself as an expert on fake spiritualists, and Judge Spencer Mainwaring is the family's attorney. A blast destroys the drawbridge at the entrance, stranding the entertainers and guests inside, and sinister forces in the house mean Janis harm.
