Plot summary
In Sleepy West, a tiny Australian town, traffic offenses count as the main excitement and Constable Gary's ambition is the local line dancing crown, which has always gone to someone else. Away from work he thinks about Julia, the local news reporter, who would rather live in Sydney. Akmal, the other young constable, works at the station run by Chief Carter. Then mutilated bodies are found, and Tony, a detective from the city, is brought in to investigate. His aggressive methods clash with Gary and Carter, while Akmal is in awe of him. Each victim's job matches one held by a member of the Village People.
