He has done time for a murder he did not commit, framed by the corrupt detective Arnie DeViers, who answers to the crime boss Chicka Martin. Barry finds work as a chef at the restaurant of Darren 'Dabba' Barrington, an ex-criminal who has gone straight, and does well there. When a corrupt accountant is arrested, his seized records take money that belongs to Dabba and to Chicka.
