Plot summary
Allison and Carlos Torres once said yes to everything, but raising Katie, Nando and Ellie has made them protective parents who refuse. After homework in which Katie and Nando call their mother a dictator comes to light at a school conference, Allison complains that Carlos leaves her the bad cop role. A parent of six who works at the school hears this and explains the yes day his household uses: twenty-four hours when parents must stop refusing, within reason. Carlos and Allison put the same offer to their children, provided chores are done, grades hold up and nobody gets in trouble. Katie turns it into a bet, staking a trip to Fleek Fest on whether her mother can last. The children meet the conditions and choose five activities for the day.
