Plot summary
Zeus comes to his son Perseus with a warning. Humans have stopped praying, the gods are losing their power, and the walls of Tartarus can no longer hold Kronos, father of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Perseus, a fisherman raising his son Helius, refuses to leave his family. In Tartarus, Hades and Ares attack Zeus, taking him prisoner and seizing his thunderbolt so they can drain his power and revive Kronos. Monsters break loose on the world; Perseus kills a Chimera that attacks his village. Poseidon, badly wounded, reaches him at the Mount of Idols, hands him his trident and tells him to find Agenor, who can lead him to Hephaestus and the way into Tartarus. Perseus flies to Queen Andromeda's camp, where Agenor is held for stealing crown jewels, and wins his release.

- Hayley Atwell was shortlisted and screen-tested for the role of Andromeda in Wrath of the Titans, and Georgina Haig, Janet Montgomery, Dominique McElligott and Clémence Poésy were also considered, after Alexa Davalos left the part from the previous film due to a scheduling conflict.
- Director Jonathan Liebesman said the first Clash of the Titans was shot and edited in 2D and converted to 3D only six or seven weeks before release, so Wrath of the Titans was conceived from the ground up in 3D, editing in 3D for 3D.
