Plot summary
Jeff Allen wants to be a stockbroker, and a bartender who knows the Wall Street crowd points him toward Wolfe Brothers, a New York City brokerage firm. He applies, and the firm takes him on as an intern. The brokers there are young and good-looking, and they make a great deal of money by trading without mercy. Annabella Morris, his girlfriend, gives him a silver pen. What the firm hides is where its success comes from: an animal instinct that passes through a bite, and it is already at work in Jeff. Dyson Keller, the broker who mentors him, belongs to the same pack.
