Plot summary
Four pollinators carry this story: a bee, a butterfly, a hummingbird and a bat. Flowers draw the animals in with vibrant colors and exotic flavors, and the visiting animals allow the plants to reproduce. Pollinators are called unsung heroes of the global food chain. One third of the crops grown for food depend on this exchange between flowers and their winged visitors. That partnership is called fragile, threatened and essential to the balance of the planet.
