Plot summary
The documentary started as one fan's crowdfunding pitch, drew more than forty-five thousand dollars from over six hundred backers, and became two years of shooting, mostly in the United States with an event in London for fans. People who made the trilogy and people who watch it sit down to describe what the movies have meant to the culture around them. Alongside recollections of how the original film was made, the cameras turn to the DeLorean that serves as the trilogy's time machine and the engineering behind a working hoverboard. Figures from the fandom appear as well, among them a team that restores a DeLorean used on screen and a nostalgia band devoted to the trilogy.
