Willard (2003) on Netflix

Plot summary

Willard Stiles looks after Henrietta, his ill and verbally abusive mother, in the family's deteriorating mansion, and works at the manufacturing company his father founded. Frank Martin, who took the business over, mocks and belittles him in front of the staff. Unable to clear a rat colony from the basement, Willard instead makes friends with a white rat he names Socrates and starts training the growing horde, among them Ben, a very large rat. Martin locks him in an elevator at work until Cathryn, a sympathetic co-worker, lets him out. That evening Willard watches Socrates shredding a newspaper and teaches the rats to follow his orders; he then takes them to Martin's house, where they destroy the tires on Martin's new car.
