Plot summary
Whitney Houston's death in 2012 is the starting point, and from there the documentary looks back over her life and the people around her. Relatives, friends and musicians give accounts of her, set against archive footage from her 1999 world tour. Those accounts return often to her mother Cissy Houston, her father, her husband, her daughter and her friend Robyn Crawford. The documentary takes in her early years as a gospel singer, her signing by Clive Davis at Arista Records, her debut album in 1985 and her work in The Bodyguard in 1992. Her use of drugs is addressed as well.
