Plot summary
Abe Dale is at lunch with his wife and son when a man shoots them both and then turns the gun on himself. Days later, grief drives Abe to swallow pills at home; his friend Marty Bloom finds him, and doctors bring him back. The near-death experience leaves him seeing a white light around certain people and hearing voices come through static on electronic devices, the phenomena known as Electronic Voice Phenomena. The light means the person is about to die, and Abe begins to intervene. He saves three lives, among them Sherry Clarke, the nurse who cared for him during his recovery.
