Plot summary
Cole Carter, a former track star and college dropout in the San Fernando Valley, is a 23-year-old DJ counting on one track to take him to the top. He and his friends Mason, Ollie and Squirrel canvass for a nightclub, and with Mason's help Cole performs there that night. There he meets the headliner, James Reed, a veteran DJ. James invites him to a party and, the next morning, Cole wakes at James's home, where Sophie, James's girlfriend and assistant, drives him back. Cole's friends, unhappy with what canvassing pays, take work with Paige Morrell, who runs a real estate solutions company. James hires Cole to play his house party.
