Bel Canto (2018) on Netflix

Plot summary

Roxane Coss, an American soprano, comes to a South American country to perform a private concert at a birthday party for Katsumi Hosokawa, a Japanese industrialist. Local dignitaries gather at the mansion of Vice-President Ruben Ochoa, among them the French ambassador Simon Thibault and his wife, the Russian trade delegate Fyodorov, and Gen, who translates for Hosokawa. Guerrillas commanded by Comandante Benjamin seize the house and hold the guests inside, demanding that their imprisoned comrades be released. The Red Cross negotiator Messner is the only contact between the captives and the outside world, and the standoff lasts for weeks, with the singer and the industrialist among those kept in the house.
