Moose and Camille come to New York for NYU, where Moose studies electrical engineering after promising his father he would stop dancing. While touring the campus he spots Luke's sneakers and follows him to a dance battle, where Moose beats Kid Darkness of the House of Samurai. Luke leads the House of Pirates, a crew whose dancers each have their own style, and they rehearse in a warehouse called the vault with a club downstairs. Luke invites Moose to join, believing the World Jam Championships prize would cover the mortgage on the warehouse, which is in arrears and could be auctioned. Julien leads the rival House of Samurai.
