Plot summary
Thirteen years after a man in a pumpkin head drove a lawnmower through a Halloween killing spree, police officer Dick Harbinger cannot let the case go. The anniversary falls on the night of the high school's annual Halloween Pumpkin Prom, and Harbinger, along with Mary Graves, whose older sister was one of the victims, expects the killer to return. Mary, a student at the school, still sees little lawnmowers everywhere, and her friend Rosie is dating Tony Schlongini. Investigators bring in Zeke, the school janitor, for questioning, and Mary's father is questioned too. Mary's household has its own troubles: her father has been caught peeking at her in the shower and while she slept.
