Plot summary
William Duncan lives in suburban Georgia with his wife Jen and their daughter Kat, a softball player with plans to study law. One evening Kat waits in the car while William goes in to order their food, and Rory and Danny, who work for their father Donnie, drag her outside; Danny shoots and kills her. Danny is arrested, but William is told the charge will likely bring only five to seven years, so he withholds the identification and Danny goes free. William rams Danny with his car and beats him to death with a softball bat. Detective Chen comes asking about the killing, and Jen, who knows her husband is a former Marine, begs him not to return to his old ways.
