Plot summary
The story is based on real events. Alec Diaz is a middle schooler who has learned something about Lynda's son Marcus, and what he knows could send Marcus to jail. The trail leads back to a string of lies that Lynda told. Rather than let the boy speak, Lynda moves to bring Alec down, going after him in every way she can. Alec must also contend with school officials who refuse to hear him out, while the woman's intentions toward him grow more hostile and more dangerous.
