Trailer
Plot summary
Archive footage and a narrator lay out the history of Japan's student movement in the 1960s and early 1970s. The account then follows the founding of the United Red Army, a leftist paramilitary group formed when two of the most radical student factions merge, and the training camps its members hold in the mountains of the southern Japanese Alps. Hiroko Nagata and Tsuneo Mori, the group's leaders, run those camps, and there its ideology gives way to despotism as the two of them begin to persecute their own followers, bullying and arbitrarily punishing the members who have gathered around them.
