Plot summary
L has 23 days left and a last case to handle alone. A bioterrorist group intends to release a virus whose infection rate is a hundred times that of Ebola. A boy and a girl come to him for aid. The boy is the only survivor after the virus was used in a village in Thailand. The girl, Maki Nikaido, is an elementary school student whose father, the researcher Kimihiko Nikaido, was sent a sample of that same virus. Her father had made an antidote. Maki reaches L's headquarters while others pursue her, and L takes her and the boy under his wing.
