Plot summary
Joy designs for Pat-Treek in New York, and her friends Ashley and Littia worry about how he treats her and about her undefined relationship with Colton. Colton asks her to come to Colorado to meet his parents, saying he has an important question for her. She expects a proposal and accepts. At the airport every flight is grounded because a major snowstorm is coming, and Joy rents a car unsuited to the weather, gets lost and stops over a frozen lake. She wakes in a hunting cabin with a man, Ridge Philips, who nurses her back to health. He says he will drive her into town after the weather clears, which could take up to a week.
