Plot summary
Art Dodge is behind on the bills at his Miami art gallery and cannot pay his assistant Gloria or the artist Manny, so he reads the obituaries and tells recent widows that their husbands bought a painting just before dying. The trick goes wrong with Gene, a mobster whose father has just died; Art flees the henchmen and hides in a Rolls-Royce belonging to Betty Kerner, Gene's wealthy ex-wife, who takes him in. Betty wants to marry him within two weeks, and Gene, still in love with her, will not let him back out. At Betty's apartment Art meets her sister Liz, an art professor who takes him for a gigolo. To get close to Liz he invents Bart, a twin brother just back from Italy, and starts living two lives.
