Turn of the Cheek (2020) on Netflix

Plot summary

During a robbery, a Black couple's teenage son is killed. The man convicted of the crime receives a sentence of forty years. The victim's mother wants to take in the offender's young son, a boy of six to eight, adopt him and raise him as her own. Her husband objects to the idea. The boy's father, serving his sentence, objects as well. The two families come from different walks of life, and the killing has brought them together, leaving the mother at odds with her husband and with the boy's father over what should happen to the child, who had no part in the killing.
