Gary Coleman
Biography
Gary Coleman was an American actor who became a child star in the late 1970s and 1980s. Born in Zion, Illinois, he began working in the mid-1970s with commercials and an episode of Medical Center. After his work on a planned Little Rascals revival drew attention, he was cast as Arnold Jackson in the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, which ran from 1978 to 1986 and made him famous. He won two Young Artist Awards and three People's Choice Awards for that role. He reprised Arnold on Hello, Larry, The Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, and Amazing Stories. His television films included The Kid from Left Field, Scout's Honor, and The Fantastic World of D.C. Collins (1984). He also headlined the features On the Right Track and Jimmy the Kid, starred in his own cartoon The Gary Coleman Show, and later acted in the video games The Curse of Monkey Island and Postal 2.
