Plot summary
Burt Gummer has become a star through a survivalist web series, with Travis Welker working as his cameraman. Two agents of the South African Wildlife Ministry, Erich Van Wyk and Johan Dreyer, bring the pair in to deal with Ass-Blasters in their country. Because South African law leaves Burt's heavy weapons impounded, Erich supplies a small set of guns that Burt calls too light in caliber. The men base themselves at a refuge for animals, where Travis befriends a young girl, Amahle, and courts her mother, Dr. Nandi Montabu. Baruti, a local, also loves Nandi and becomes Travis's rival.

- An inspection of the cave used in Tremors 5 by a team from the University of the Witwatersrand found hominid fossils; the first fossil found was in a rock on the cave floor, below graffiti left by the film crew.
- Tremors 5: Bloodlines was the first entry in the series made without Stampede Entertainment, the production company formed by the writing team that created the franchise; Universal instead kept all creative control.
