Plot summary
A Semester at Sea ship, the Sea King, hits a shark that lodges in its propeller and damages the hull, and the vessel begins taking on water. A two-headed shark then attacks the ship and snaps its radio antenna, so co-captain Laura cannot call for help. The group spots a deserted atoll, and Laura steers the Sea King toward it before Professor Franklin Babish takes the students across on a dinghy. Anne Babish remains aboard with Laura and the crew, Han and Dikilla. On the atoll the students look for scrap metal to repair the ship, and Kate admits to Kirsten that she fears the water.
