Plot summary
Jeanette, Annick, Peyton and Mutesi are four women of different backgrounds and beliefs. They hide in a hole underneath a house in Rwanda during the Genocide Against the Tutsi. Two of the four are Tutsi, one is a Hutu moderate, and one came as an American volunteer. While they stay hidden, the struggle to survive draws them together into a sisterhood.
